Skovveien 8 - a good home right from the start

It all started here, in the beautiful tenement building in historical, fashionable Frogner in Oslo. Built in 1898-99 for Hansen & Gaarder, it was designed by architect Halfdan Strøm, and the owner of the building Olaf Martin Gaarder lived here himself in 1900. The tenants at the time included a number of influential names, and the apartments were large and spacious, with up to eight rooms in each apartment. Since then, the building has been remodelled as offices, and then turned into a hotel in 1992. Frogner House Hotell helped lay the cornerstone of our philosophy. The hotel was renowned for its excellent hospitality, and guests reported that they always felt welcome and at home. The hotel had a classical, warm interior with high ceilings and large windows. When Frogner House Apartments was established in 2005 it seemed only natural to maintain the underlying values that hotel owner Monica Skaugen had promoted during the 12 years she ran the hotel at Skovveien 8. Frogner House Apartments now offers 57 apartments for people who need a home away from home. Welcome - home.
